Belly Dance Every Day - More Ribs Part 1
Just like you can do hip figure 8s, you can do rib figure 8s.
Let start with a horizontal 8. Imagine that you are using your ribcage to draw an eight on the floor. Get into your basic posture and slide your right ribcage forward and then out. Twist it back and then come to center. Do the same with your left - forward, out, back and then to center. Repeat this move several times being sure to hit all the points. When you are comfortable, round the move out and push it through the center instead of pausing. Don’t forget to reverse the move when you practice.
This is a flat move, so watch to be sure that when you twist your ribcage you aren’t twisting up or down. Also, try to keep your shoulders out of the move as much as possible. Remember to relax!
